Comments

The House Sparrow originated in the Middle East and spread along with agriculture to most of Eurasia and North Africa. House Sparrow has been introduced in New York City (and from there in North America) in 1852; in New Zealand (and from there in many Pacific islands, including Hawai) in 1859; in Australia at Melbourne in 1863; and in Buenos Aires and South America around 1870. Introduction to South Africa of both a European and an Indian subspecies was done around 1900. House Sparrow is considered the most widely distributed bird on the planet.
